Wicked

Wicked was good. Jesse and I got tickets from his mom this past Christmas. Jesse is somewhat of a Wicked junkie after seeing it in Philly when he lived up there. Well, this was my first time at an actual Broadway production. I loved it, but I can't help but feel that all the press and hype I had heard overrated it for me in my own head. So expecting it to be absolutely larger than life, I was not as impressed. That's not to say that I shouldn't have been.

I thought the story, plot, script were really well-written. It fits into The Wizard of Oz so well! The actors' and actresses' singing and choreography was also exceptional. I do think that the acoustics or the orchestra was off. While I don't know which, I definitely want to see it again. Jesse agreed with most of criticisms I had. He said that he caught things this time that he didn't remember in the Philly editions, but maybe the script was tweaked within the past three years. Neill said it was amazing in NYC when he saw it nearly two weeks ago. Maybe our seats gave us a different perspective or the theater sound system wasn't in tip-top shape that day. I don't think Jesse will object to this idea. I hope to see it soon wherever it may be next.

scripted!

Fun to compare the two. Neill just got back from NYC, a 4-day trip with his mom as she was in a medical conference. They stayed at a Marriott hotel in Times Square, and reading his livejournal made my mouth water for the city jungle that is New York. Si pues, someday...

In other news, Drew over at anextendedvacation.blogspot.com and I have finally joined forces, collaborating in a [TV] script. No substantial anything yet, but we'll keep you posted, I'm sure. It's a challenge that we'll be taking. I'm anxious, hopeful, but also unsure on how we'll do it!
