bad blogger

I'm neglecting the blogging, I know. I just have a lot on my plate this upcoming week, and I'm feeling stressed and in a bad mood. I know I'm taking it out on Mia and Jesse, but I am having a hard time curbing my attitude. I did buy a car on Friday, and Jesse was there to hold my hand. 2010 Honda Civic, with only 6131 miles when I drove it off the lot. That purchase feels/felt good. I feel like more of an adult after buying it, my first major buy. But, I just have so much that I need to do, and I'm a little nervous about undertaking such a financial responsibility. Four classes this semester will be tough. I'm stressed, but I actually believe in myself, that I can do it! Well, that's all for now. I'm exhausted.

On a possible curing note, I want to try rolfing! Maybe that'll knock some of my tension out.

a car, finally

The last couple of weeks have been relaxing in that I've been lazy and not completing the agenda I have been planning. I just wanted to update that on Friday, I am officially purchasing my first car. Yes, at over 24 1/2 years old. I'll be signing the papers for a 2010 Honda Civic, used with 6,000 miles. I had to give up the Mini idea because of practicality, and once I test-drove the Civic that I will be buying (and a newHonda Insight), I knew that it would be reliable and more cost-effective. Well, I still have quite a bit to do between now and then (i.e., set up insurance if needed, that is if there is no grace period; prepare for classes next week though UNO's relaunch of their website is making that impossible; and work on my Spring issue articles). I got online just now to look up something, but I forget what it was. Hmm, good day today. Lazy, but fun because Jes took off of work and we spent the day together. It sort of started out at Ruby Slippers, which if you haven't tried, we HIGHLY recommend! (Think Bananas Foster pain perdue and Bread pudding pancakes!) We walked over to the new CBD locations literally four blocks from our apartment.

Well, I'll update again soon. Guten nacht!

Bonjour!

Drew is absolutely right. It's been far too long since my last update. I guess I have a few good excuses, namely that I had finals and all the holidays kind of spun by. But, there were times in between plans, obligations, fun and laziness that I could have opened my computer, navigated to this page and updated my blog. I just kept on putting it off because I knew I'd have so much to say. That's what always happens for me. A worn out excuse nevertheless.

Well, I won't say too much tonight because I need to go to bed. I have to be at McGehee for 7:45 as I am substituting third grade math. I get to teach decimals tomorrow, how lucky! I actually subbed for two fourth grade math classes and a third grade language class last week. I am also still working at Scriptura, which if I haven't managed to share since I got the job, generally, I love it!

The last few weeks have been busy, but relaxing as well. No nannying for two weeks while the kids were out of school. I, myself, am still in my near month and a half of winter break before beginning the spring semester next Tuesday. I've decided to take four classes this semester, and while anxious and a little self-doubting, I am excited and hopeful. I've gotten to go back to BR a few times to see my parents and Mia, though she's back in NOLA now. And, Drew came in on Friday, and while not long enough, we had a lovely afternoon eating and talking. Il Posto, Magazine shopping, and concluding with gelato at Sucre! Who could ask for a better afternoon :)

I will expand tomorrow or Tuesday on some of the things I've mentioned above. For now, I need to rest and remind myself of the tasks that I should prioritize.

- make/send Daddy's birthday card tomorrow
- call insurance company to make sure I don't double pay on dr's bill
- write thank you notes for Christmas presents
- go to Walgreens to return watch

Adieu, I can't wait to dive deeper into what's been going on in my life. After all, much of it is happening to fast, I haven't had time to reflect.
